Use these contacts to route questions about official McPherson County criminal records to the office that keeps them. The Sheriff handles its own incident, arrest, booking, and warrant material. Court files belong with the County Court or Clerk of District Court, while statewide criminal-history requests go to the Nebraska State Patrol. This private site cannot accept a records request or produce an official copy.

Need an Official Record?

The proper McPherson County or Nebraska contact depends on who created the record:

  • Arrest, incident, booking, warrant, and custody questions: call the McPherson County Sheriff at 308-587-2445 or write to PO Box 44, Tryon, NE 69167. No separate street counter or public-record hours are published, so confirm the method and timing before visiting or sending a request.
  • District Court felony files and certified filings: contact Clerk of District Court Katherine E. The courthouse publishes weekday public hours of 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays, but confirm the individual court counter's schedule.

  • Nebraska criminal-history records and official checks: contact the Nebraska State Patrol Criminal Identification Division. Its RAP service is separate from a court case search or a request for a Sheriff's report.
  • Set-asides, sealing, and narrow error-arrest expungement: begin with the court that handled the case or, where the statute requires it, the District Court in the county of arrest. Court staff can provide access information but cannot give legal advice.

McPherson County does not publish a separately named Sheriff's records division, local records form, fee sheet, or guaranteed turnaround. Under the Nebraska Public Records Act, send a focused request directly to the office holding the record and ask for an estimate and any segregable, nonexempt portions. The County Clerk's listed public hours apply to the courthouse office, not automatically to the Sheriff or each court counter.
